Loki and Fenrir

Loki and Fenrir amid the stripey trees
A detail of Loki
A detail of Fenrir
Work in progress
The original pen and ink sketch of Loki from ages ago.
This one is part of a larger project I'm working on, but also features in the Brainbelt Illustration Collective exhibition running in the Graphic Studio Gallery until tomorrow.
Loki was always my favourite of all the Norse gods, intelligent, mischievous and quick-witted.
Fenrir was one of Loki's children (One of the perils of shape-shifting amour) by the giantess Angrboưa.

Freyr's Contraption

Freyr riding Gullinbursti, his somewhat absurd flying golden boar. It's one of the odder contraptions from the Norse myths. Only pen and ink so far, haven't had a chance to colour up.

Obsession

Bit of a lazy one this week. I just find Calvin Klein ads inherently absurd.
If you don't, well, here's Fry and Laurie's take instead:

Perennial Odin

The All-father holding Gungnir, with Huginn and Muninn perched;
Yggdrasil in the distance.

Battlefield Homeopath

Puck, Oberon and Titania

A quick mock up, that'll likely never be finished.
A detail.

Cultivate

These guys were going to be part of a larger composition that didn't happen.

Swarm

An alternative colour scheme

Trying out a different style for Illustration Friday this week,
this one's dedicated to poor little Dylan Haskins, not yet a TD.
And the pen and ink sketch.

Layers

Playing around with line qualities on this Illustration Friday doodle.

Dust

My latest rough attempt for Illustration Friday, this time on the theme of dust.
And since that picture is so narrow, here's a zoom on the middle:

And the sketch:

Phenomenon

Rough work in progress of a rain of frogs. Hopefully I'll get to finish it at some point.

A Sneaky Smoke

A quick sketch for this week's Illustration Friday topic 'Sneaky'. I won't get a chance to finish it this week, but here's the rough version and the ink sketch anyway.
